Sean D. Kennedy is a graduate of the University of Chicago (A.B., 2003) and Tulane Law School (J.D., 2008) where he earned certificates in both Civil Law and Maritime Law. During law school, Mr. Kennedy served on the Tulane Maritime Law Journal, which selected two of his works for publication in the Spring and Fall 2008 volumes, and received the 2008 Tulane Maritime Law Center Award for his legal writing.
Before joining Chalos & Co., Mr. Kennedy practiced for several years with a maritime law firm in New Orleans, where he represented marine cargo interests, vessel charterers, marine insurers and owners of offshore drilling vessels in salvage, wreck removal, insurance coverage and commercial disputes. With Chalos & Co. he continues to work on a variety of admiralty and maritime civil litigation matters.
Mr. Kennedy is admitted in Louisiana, the district courts for the Middle and Eastern District of Louisiana, Southern District of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
