Chalos & Co, P.C. – International Law Firm has been featured in Issue no. 16 of The Commercial, Shipping & Investment Arbitration Watch (October – December 2012).  The Arbitration Watch is a quarterly newsletter that aims to provide an in depth look at the world of arbitration, including the latest news, laws, and court cases from throughout the world.  The article discusses the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals' decision in First Investment Corporation of the Marshall Islands v. Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding, Limited, Case No. 12-30377 (5th Cir. Dec. 21, 2012), which held that a court may dismiss a petition to confirm a foreign arbitration award under the New York Convention for lack of personal jurisdiction over the respondent.
